about
bēru dziesma.
These are lyrics of an ancient Latvian folk song used in funeral rites. Not all verses are translated as the song contains archaic language and a specific poetic structure.
Come under the ground, little mouse
Come and see where I’ll dwell when I am gone.
Let it rust, let it mould
Let it crackle when you come.
Make horses ready to take me to the sand of cemetery ground.
My last journey has come and I shall never return.
I shall never return, never walk through your door.
I hear folks talking and brewing ale.
But I shall never eat, never drink
I shall forever stay lying in sand.

Sometimes I buy stuff after a very short listen deciding I like it. Somehow this has not steered me wrong yet. It does give me many excited moments of “wow this is even cooler than I thought!” This has all the weight, depth and darkness I could hope for. At moments reminds me of a band I loved who is no longer together, but Andvaka brings more into it. sageraven71

This is the kind of long meandering ballad-like doom that carries you in dimensions you don't want to leave. It is a comfy experience, yet crossed by glares of darkness; but those are never intimidating, they work more as a counterbalancing shade that adds complexity to the living flesh of this wonderful album. If you're going to go out in apocalyptic style you might want to have the 40 minute title track playing loud at your side. Bandcamp New & Notable Nov 12, 2013

Icelandic Blackened Funeral Doom. There are many experimental excursions here. It is both extremely dark & oppressive but at the same time it is also uplifting in places. It is an incredibly unique style & not at all an easy listen. However, it is well worth it as it is very rewarding as well! Recommended! bmurator
